Mustafizur Rahman has been summoned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board after a toe injury forced his withdrawal from the India-bound squad for the three T20Is against Afghanistan in Dehradun.
Akram Khan, the BCB's cricket operations chairman, expressed displeasure because Mustafizur didn't communicate the extent of his injury after arriving from his stint with Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Mustafizur played a practice game in Mirpur on Saturday, and was given two days off to recuperate from his niggle which at the time was thought to be minor. On Monday, Mustafizur complained of pain with subsequent scans revealing a hairline fracture that could sideline him for upto four weeks.

খুব বড় দুঃসংবাদ বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট দলের জন্য - Bangladesh Cricket News

Bangladesh's pace bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman suffered a toe injury while trying to stop a ball during an Indian Premier League [IPL] encounter for Mumbai Indians and as that pain is still causing him distress, the team management decided to let the left-arm seamer rest for the next couple of days, informed Bangladesh's interim head coach Courtney Walsh yesterday.
After returning from the IPL, Mustafizur joined the Tigers' training camp on Saturday and bowled in the match scenario training, but the 22-year-old did not look to be at his best.
“At the moment he has a slight toe problem. He is not 100 per cent now. We have given him a couple of days off,” Walsh told reporters.
Walsh is hoping though that Mustafizur will fire on all cylinders when the team face Afghanistan in India next month. The Interim head coach also hopes that the other fast bowlers will deliver.
“We want him firing when we get to India. He has improved quite a lot. His strength has come back. I think he is getting there in his pace. I think he will deliver in India. The bowlers have to put their hands up, but not just Rubel or Fizz (Mustafizur). Whichever seam bowler we use, we want them to stand out. Our spinners have always been consistent,” said Walsh.
Bangladesh will participate in a practice match on June 1 before facing Afghanistan on June 3 in the first of a three-match T20I series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.

Bangladesh opening batsman Soumya Sarkar is targeting a fresh start, and looking to recover from the recent bad patch, when the Tigers take on Afghanistan in the three-match T20I series.
The Tigers are currently practising under the supervision of interim head coach Courtney Walsh at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
A total of 31 players were selected to participate in the fitness and conditioning camp, ahead of the Afghanistan series, and a full bilateral series away to the West Indies.
Among them, 15 players have been named for the Afghanistan T20Is. The selected players took part in a skill practice session at the Mirpur centre wicket Thursday afternoon.
Soumya, who has been struggling for form in the shorter formats for quite a long time now, believes scoring runs in the upcoming series is the best possible option to get his confidence back. The left-handed stroke-maker has only scored 101 runs in seven T20Is this year with a modest average of 14.42.

West Indies bowling great Courtney Walsh, who has been serving at the interim head coach of Bangladesh’s cricket team after the departure of Chandika Hathurusingha, is likely to continue to lead the team during their upcoming three-match Twenty20 series against Afghanistan.
Akram Khan, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) cricket operations chairman confirmed Walsh’s extension after the former pacer had led Bangladesh to the final of the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka against eventual champions India. The Nidahas Trophy final saw Bangladesh witness heartbreak as Dinesh Karthik hit a last-ball six to give India the title in a thriller.
“If we cannot find any suitable head coach, those who were in the team management during the last series will continue. If we fail to rope someone as head coach, then Walsh is expected to act as the head coach considering his performances in the last series,” Akram told cricbuzz.com.
Sohel Islam, BCB’s game development coach and the current head coach of the Under-17 team was elevated to the teams fielding coach.
